Leaving Lo Manthang Photo

Photographer’s Note

I was leaving Lo Manthang, the capital of the hidden kingdom of Lo, Mustang, when I saw a lonely knight coming down a mountain in front of me. He was riding so quickly...I turn myself back with the intention to take a picture of him, when I saw the mountain...I didn't realised that she was there cause we had two days of heavy clouds...I was astonished... I asked my porters what was the name of that mountain and they told me "Himal"...In nepali "himal" means...mountain...so, for me, now she is THE MOUNTAIN....

Hello Chiara,

What an astonishing shot of the high Himalayas, complemented by a surpassing note. I thought it was so good that I read it again and again (and I am an author). The photograph itself is etherial, the peaks soaring, floating above the layer of thick fog and clouds. Congratulations for a superb shot, and welcome to Trekearth.

Wonderful framing of the mystic mountain with the clouds .. the height is amplified by the distance to the foreground .. very nice. take care, John

Certo deve essere stata un'emozione enorme!!
La tua foto è bellissima: l'apparizione della montagna gigantesca, l'ombra della nuvola, qualche persona per dare la sensazione della dimensione, e infine della strana vegetazione verticale in primo piano.
