Photographer’s Note

One of our planned treats on the Crab Crawl was the Dungeness Crab Saute at Scoma's in Sausalito. You have to ask for it as it's no longer on the the menu. Still every time I've asked, I've enjoyed this amazing dish. Since it was a bit early to stop, we kept driving south.

When we were getting tired, Larry noticed a sign announcing, "Coastal Access." We found a parking lot that looked like it would have a good view in the morning. We were traveling in a little pop-top camper, so we raised the roof and crawled into bed. This was our morning view.

Long time no seeing your images! Nice view showing the warm tones of this scenery. I realize you live in a beautiful place given the breathtaking views you present us here. Good details and excellent point of view...I hope you had an awesome Christmas :-)

What tremendously vivid colours! The greens and yellows are quite special, but what makes it for me is that wonderfully contrasting purple at the horizon.

I think the sea itself it a little smudged which perhaps is no bad thing - I think it's quite possible to overuse the sharpening tool. But otherwise - rather nicely composed, quite a special shot - really well done!

Hello Pat ,
It seems to be a breton (west france) coastal scenery . Because there are a lot of "cupressus macrocarpa" , growing in europa , and they come from California . I like this summer atmosphere .

What a splendid view. You have nice warm light on the tree trunks and the soft pink light on the clouds as well. Nicely composed so that the tree forms a frame at the top of the image.

It is certainly an advantage to be 'on-the-job' when you wake up on a morning. More time to sleep for a start. ;D The light on the trees is particularly good and the pinkish tones in the sky are beautiful. Well composed with the tree making a perfect frame.

nice this panoramic view of this place,with the trunks of the trees on the right to decorate pleasantly the scene.I like the foreground greenery as the upper branches that create a natural frame of the photo.Well done.

This is truly a lovely view to be the first sight of the day.
Love how the pink sky gungs the muted blue horizon that contrast so brilliantly with the lush green foreground.
There is no one crawling into the back of a pop up camper in my neck of the woods this time of year so it must be a treat to do in late Dec.

Hello Pat,
After reading this note you have generously wrote about your vehicle that is almost a VW Bus, I would have to say Larry and you must have lived through the 60's with big smiles as the generation that we have grown into has alerted the world that there was about to be a change, and the change that day was the sunrise from within the Pop/Top Camper. I'll let you interpret my thinking here, LOL...
I wish you both a Very Happy New Year and that you are both safe and happy for all the year to come...

Lovely morning light which almost makes the tree trunks glow. Fine framing with the trees & the branches/leaves which spread across the top frame, leaving the wide open sea on the left.

Compliments of the season Pat. One of the joys of travelling with your house on your back ;-). We have a little Pop-Top caravan (trailer) that gets the occasional outing, great wee toy. Hello Pat,

The Pacific view is well framed by the old tree!
I notice this is quite early in the morning and this influencing the colours with the pastel touch in the horizon...
A balanced composition with good depth!
