Photographer’s Note

Gate to Yosemite is one of my favorite location to photograph sunset in Yosemite. Lighting and condition here is alway unpredictable but if you willing to wait good thing can happen. This image was photograph about 30 min. after the sunset. The lighting was great to the naked eye, but when capture with camera it just spectacular. What a fabulous shot! The snowy stones look like little polar bears poking their heads up, but what really makes it for me is the rich orange of the sun on the cliff face. Well worth waiting all that time for. I'd attempt a workshop, but I really don't think I could make it any better. Well done!

Very beautiful shot with great lighting , pov n reflection.. it is interesting that the light on the rock somehow reduces the coldness of the image..an appealing shot ..TFS

Hi Phuoc,
A spectacular image, beautiful with the pastels and the white and just that tip of orange light on the mountain peak. Very nicely composed too with those iced rocks in the foreground and the reflection and the mountains forming a 'v'.

That' s a incredible shot with a soft and cold atmosphere of this froozen landscape surrounded by a warm mountain. Il ike the lake, the reflection in it and especially the little stones witch give sharpness to the foreground.

it's beautiful.
like an artist's painting.
good capture and well manage DOF and color tone.
many things made this shot more charming; lovely five rocks in foreground,touching of the red light at the mountain and the mistic soft look at the right mountain.
worth for waiting and good thing really happen :)

That's a real painting! A real feast to the eyes! A true pleasure to the soul!
Excellent management of light and adequate sharpness! Soft lights and colors! The viewpoint was very well chosen to compose this image with all the beautiful elements you had in hand! You have captured a superb winter atmosphere in this wonderful landscape! I also love the reflection on the water surface with those rocks covered by snow!

Great photo!. Love the reflection of the sunlit mountain!. Like the place of the stones covered in snow as well!. Maybe a little more contrast and a frame would've been nice, but that's just my taste.

A beautiful image from this classic viewpoint at Yosemite. I for one always love the look of those snow-covered rocks in the foreground. A real keeper mate.

This photo is exactly the one I wish to take one day. The lightning is incredible and well managed, there is the red color of the stones in opposition to the overall snowy landscape and the fog providing a nice ambiance.
One of the best Yosemite photos I have ever seen.
