Photographer’s Note

I was hiding this little darling in a workshop not long ago and some of the girls suggested that I should show her in a main post, and as it is Christmas I thought it would be appropriate to behave, at least once in a while I try :))))) She is the farmer’s youngest daughter that owns the DeLavalle CowBrush and she was watching me carefully when I did the pictures of HER cows and she stayed in the snow for a little while not minding the cold too much, not really sure if she should trust me, and NO chance whatsoever to bring her inside the house, NO listening to her mother :))) She could be me, I never listened when it came to water or snow, blue lips, frozen feet but stubborn, actually I guess I still am but meanwhile I like it drier, a fire place maybe, yes THIS suits my taste.

I liked the light here, a winter light, pretty late in the afternoon, the sun was beginning to hide behind the mountain peaks and when the shade came it was pretty cold, something below zero.

Well it is xmas eve, what can I say to you other than enjoy some lovely moments with people you like, I will be at my father’s place and I am pretty sure his oven is going strong already and I had times when I tried to change him and his lovely lady friend that they should cook less but as I am a little older myself meanwhile I let them do their own thing, this is what I learned, we all want to do our things the way we want it, so our parents have the same right, hey, they get older, we all get older, and I begin to enjoy the true taste of life. Merry Christmas!

Be happy 1 and Be happy 2 ... just for fun, cause I thought they looked so HAPPY.

Sorry for the frame, folks, it is not quite how it should be. I wanted to change something on this picture but my upload urge was bigger than thinking. But maybe you don't see it but I do, and yet it is Christmas so what. Nothing is perfect.

Those delicate late afternoon sun pink hues reflected in the snow are simply lovely, so is that little darling, perfectly framed. Immaculate presentation, soulful and technically flawless, TFS! Hi barbara
Gorgeous light on this little cherub. her face is nice and evenly lit and she really stands out against the simple white BG. Well done indeed. I am feeling a little melancholy as we are experiencing a blizzard right now and my brother decided to cancel his flight here this year and it could be that the roads will not be fit for travel tomorrow??? Anyway wishing you and yours a very merry Christmas.

An angle she is, so adorable. She's dealing with the cold much better than I do :) I would have stay inside and be stuborn inside than out there. But I guess she look better on the photo outside than inside. Yes, absolutel beautiful winter light, so soft and gentle. The workshop, oh so HAPPY. Thanks and Merry Christmas the 5th time.

Hello Barbara,
What a great portrait of this cute little girl! The pink sets up well with the pure snow, a great catch for sure.
I remember St. Gallen well as I camped out alongside the lake near there after walking through the old village that is set up for tourists as the dates that the cabins were built were placed over their doorways. My one sorrowful day of my vacation was also that day, as I had an older Yashika TL Elctra X 35 mm camera and forgot to take off the lens cap before shooting the complete roll of film at the village. Duhhhh was the word I used for myself as the villagers were pointing and laughing, and as I did not speak their dialect, they were allowed the first and last laugh.
