Photographer’s Note
Skye is the largest and most northerly island in the Inner Hebrides of Scotland. The island is renowned for its spectacular scenery, culture and heritage, and its rich wildlife.
This is the view of Skye (and Rum in the distance) from the Mallaig - Armadale ferry. Skye is now linked to the Scottish mainland by a road bridge, but the ferries are still a popular way to get there. The journey from Fort William along the West Highland Railway to Mallaig and onto the ferry at Skye just can't be beaten!

You refer to a subject extremely close to my own heart...the one time I went on that same Jacobite Express up to Mallaig was nothing short of breathtaking (the bloody train-worker's strike spoiled the second chance I had, to show my Australian girlfriend just how wonderful it could be). I know just the spot you are standing in! Quite a charming view.
I'm quite a fan of the choice of the panorama you have made, and also that it is in monochrome. Less is so much more on occasion, isn't it?
I hoped you didn't mind my having a dabble in Photoshop - though I don't think I can really improve it.
Best wishes!
