Onboard a Felucca in Aswan Photo

Photographer’s Note

This old Nubian man (Nubians are Egyptian with Sudanese ancestors) was onboard the felucca we went on in Aswan on Christmas Day 2007. He was a lovely man, he sung the song "Oooh a lay lay" to our felucca, which some of you who have also travelled to Egypt may remember, as we heard it sung a lot to tourists over there!

He wasn't posing at all for this photo, and wasn't even aware it was being taken.

The reason that this guy was not posing make this such a spontaneous capture form daily life. The way you utilized the frame is very interesting the person is almost diagonal. Harsh shadow due to sun are creating an interesting visual.

A very sharp photo of a Nubian man at work. A nice composition. You could have posted a bigger image - height up to 800 pixels instead of 569 pixels. Tfs, Marlene
