Photographer’s Note

One of few sunsets on the Richelieu river where the boats and docks are plentiful in the summer.

Each sunset brings colours that makes it interesting to try different settings, and with this one I was trying shutter speeds, and it seemed to work well as I am pleased with those colours.

Hi Dot,

What a nice scene captured, wonderful colours and detail, as is the POV! Great angle, I think this would be a lot less effective without that boat ramp (still great though), so great decision on adding that ramp into shot (it really adds something to it). The Red tones and the balance of the shot is great, that setting sun among the clouds is absolutely epic.

hello Dot,

A good pov, using the jetty as a lead towards the setting sun.
The sky is an unusual red colour, with a hint of drifting clouds, accentuated in depth of colour on the rippling water.

Hi Dot,

indeed the result is wonderful.
So crispy, so clear and tender. Warm soft light of the sun is strong enough to cause overwhelming emotional response and the pier with the horzion bright enough to get a realy good sence of the scenery.
All in all a photo of calm and tender delight.

I like the warm colours of that setting sun. The soft and pleasant atmosphere please me a lot. You respected the rule of thids very well. I like the diagonal created by the pier. I did not find something wrong in that picture. Everything is fine. Well done!

Hi Dot,
The slightly riffling surface of the lovely river catches a striking reflection of the golden sky.
The long dock makes a very effective lead in to this beautiful end of day image.

One of the best in your gallery. Very impressive color tone in this sunset capture and you have really captured the mood very well with the spread of glowing light across the sky and the fine reflection on the water.

A fine inclusion of diagonal jetty. No, this is a perfect composition, nothing will be changed.
