Photographer’s Note
These water hyacinths are located in the same pond as the 'Sampan' picture at the Penang Tropical Spice Garden. Until recently I only knew that water hyacinths are the food of hippopotamus.
To take this picture, I had to bring my camera almost to ground level. Since my elbows are touching the ground, I used a long shutter speed of 1 second because it was getting quite dark then.
Contrast and brightness adjust in PS.
I like this picture and I hope you like it too.
Cheers

Hi YahWen, Excellent image. Good choice on shutter delay. I like the reflection of waterdrops and water from the background. Good catch! By the way where the Hippo? :)

This is very well seen, with a good command of depth of field. Although the green colour is particularly striking, I wonder how it would have come out in B&W?! I once did it with some tulips and obtained an astonishing result... good work!

Très belle composition, bel éclairage. L'utilisation des gouttes d'eau ajoute un plus a la photo.

Yes, I think most people liked it. Your photo, especially your nature shots, is getting stronger Yahwen. More focused, more detail and the saturation, more depicting. Is it you or your camera :)
Then again, its the eye behind the viewfinder. The hyacinth is represented very well in its colors and detail as well as scoping. Good work Yahwen. Keep going.

Hello Yahwen,
I have visited Penang many times but never notice they have such beautiful plants. Marvelous close up shot! Well done!

Hi YahWen. Good photo of this very vigorous waterplant. Having seen it in Vietnam recently i posted it without knowing it was this plant. You have a good POV and notes about it. TFS. Murray.
