Photographer’s Note

Yes, yes, I know...not my usual post.
And yes, there are thousand of lake photos here on TE, but you see, none of those is mine...
This one could not be more postcard cliché as it is but I do not really care.

This is Bled. One of most visited places in Slovenia. A real jewel. It has a lake...it has an island in the middle of it...on this island there is a church with a bell tower...
It also has a castle overlooking the lake (left from the island there is a small structure on the rock)...oh and it has ducks...many many of most friendly (= hungry) ducks...And some swans...And wooden boats named pletna. The important information here is that are not motorized...and that they are made of wood :) Oh yes, and carriages with horses, many times used for couples that just got married...
And I must not forget...it is also famous for "kremšnita" (Bled cream cake, although the slovenian version of the name most probably comes from deutsch Creme + Schnitte = Kremšnita). It is a cream slice made of leaves of dough, filled with vanilla and sweet cream that was invented after the Second World War and is now Bled’s main culinary speciality.

Ok, I think that's it.

No, there is one thing left to say. We have an artist Andrej Rozman - Roza (writer, actor, poet and dramatist) and he wrote a monodrama and there is a part that explains how the Slovenian got his land...
You see...God already distributed all the Earth land among all other nations and this was not ok with a Slovenian. So he went to God nagging about leaving him out. After negotiating for a while God realised that maybe also a Slovenian deserves a piece of land, so he said: oh well...it is not much but it has all the most beautiful places I wanted to keep for myself... :)))
