SÉRIE USHUAIA 2008 - Nº 011
(My Trip to Ushuaia - 2008 - #0011)

MONTE OLIVA/OLIVIA - MOUNT OLIVA/OLIVIA - I do love mountaineous regions since I was a child and from then on I've been adding to a list all my favorite mountains and peaks, such as Pike's Peak (Colorado Springs/Colorado/USA) - I have lived there, Matterhorn (Zermatt/Switzerland) - I have visited it, Mount Fuji (Japan) - it's in my plans to be visited, among others. This one in Ushuaia I didn't know about it until I started reading about the place on my plans for the trip and, of course, it went straight to my list!

As for the cold weather, Ushuaia is not too cold, as one could imagine for its location (about 1,000km north of the first tip of the Antarctica). This is due to the fact that the city is very close to the sea and there are mountains around. Besides that, during the winter, the wind doesn't blow too hard! On my one week stay, at night, in an empty valley, the temperature was around -5 degrees Celsius.

Hallo Neyvan!
An interesting and impressive photo. This landscape really is great, especially in winter. You have had a very favourable light on these rock faces and the few sunlit tops emphasize this sight very well. (I suggest to put "Monte Generoso", near Lugano/Switzerland, on your list! ;-)
Greetings from cool and cloudy Germany!
Frank

Hi Neyvan. grand scale of things here. Impressive mountain with its head in the clouds. I like the mood created by the predominantly cloud covered land and the light breaking through on the left and touching here and there some of the taller structures. lovely shades of blue. Regards. Klaudio. Are you folks from the Caucasus originally?

Hey Neyvan,

Yeah, that`s a classical view of Ushuaia, and beautiful, very much so in fact. A fine perspective and composition. I can feel from the colors that it must be cold, brr.

Best regards.

Neyvan,
This is a very impressive scene showing this spectacular landscape dusted with snow. The lighting is very effective showing the town in shadow creating a cold and foreboding mood. Your composition is great using the diagonal created by the mountain slope to cut the shot in half.
TFS,
Asa

Bonjours,

Giorgio

Hi Neyvan,
Very nice scenery, with wonderful sharpness and colors. The misty cloud setting on the mountain and the village seen blow look very nice.
Best regards. Salvator.

Nivaldo
