Photographer’s Note
I was staying at a house in La Paz that was located in one of the hillsides of the city. In this place the view of the city center and the both mountain peaks of La Paz was spectacular. I took this picture at 1841 hours. The mountain top covered in snow here is the Illampu (6331m above sea level, in accordance to a bolivian-made map of Bolivia —though I may be wrong with the name of the mountain).
In La Paz the people that live higher in the city are the poorer ones, and in the bottom are the richer, as opposed to most cities. That's because it's very high, and lower (in-between the mountanis) the weather is milder than on the tops. Therefore the buildings in this photo are at the bottom.
Shot with Kodak-something ISO 100 slide film
Increased saturation overall some 4 points, unsharp masking to the picure but the sky (gaussian blur), modified levels a bit.

Excellent composition, a very nice time of the evening to take a photo, and the mountains in the background are spectacular. It's let down a bit on the technical side though, most of which could probably be fixed in post processing, the main thing is it's tilted about 2 degrees to the left. I also find the yellow lights are nice, but they take up too much attention - you could consider doing a partial-desaturation of the yellow channel. That last point is probably my own personal preference though. Nice work, thanks.

A very good picture to show the stangeness of the highest capital in the world. La Paz, a fascinating city, is well presented on this alomost nightly picture. The light is perfect. Maybe the picture should be straitened a little.

This is a wow picture! So different from the many city lights pictures have been posted here. Your inclusion of the mountain peaks makes this picture quite spectacular. You probably need to correct the tilt as seen in the buildings in the foreground. It does distract a little bit especially to sensitive eyes.

Very fine capture - I like the way this city seams climb up the mountain - and the view of the mountaintops against the deep blue sky - good work Jürgen.
