Can you believe that 500m away from there, people were shooting each other almost every night in the favela nearby?
Taken at my friend's place, in Vila Isabel, this is the backyard of his neighbour. Don't be afraid to go to the Zona Norte. It's not safe, but it's not completely dangerous. Especially if you are with some "locals". |

Very nice shot. Great lighting and very good colors. I like the contrast that you describe in your note. Well done!
John.
Hi Clement...I liked your shot, but I don't believe in safe place at Rio de Janeiro...Maybe it's only bad image from newspaper, but your photo is great ! Like as a good place to live !
Thanks for share with us !
Nice pic, you have catch very well the Zona Norte atmosfere: simple houses with flowers in the vase. Like dbiaggio, I don´t believe in safe places at Rio.. neither at São Paulo, New York, Paris, Bagdá, Tókio, Los Angeles:-) But I live in Rio and, fortunately, I never was stolen or have suffered violence.
Unhappyly the violence is very great in great the city of Brazil, but Rio de Janeiro still is the wonderful City. I also live in Vila Isabel, traditional quarter of our city. You to obtain to translate the spirit of the Zona Norte in its photo.
