Photographer’s Note
Another shot of the wonderful national parc called Médanos de Coro. For more info on the place, look atmy previous picture of this place: http://www.trekearth.com/viewphotos.php?l=7&p=639760
This guy was sliding the sand "fill" down on a sheet of wood. Pretty brave if you consider that the sand at noon is very, very hot (I think it was about 2 pm).
I increased contrast, sharpened and resized.

Hi Yvonne,
In Australia we sand board down big sand hills on long sheets of masonite board with the underside smoothed with candelwax. On a lager hill you can reach speeds of up to 65km/h. We lay down on our boards headfirst like a surfboard and lift the front of the board up to move faster. You have to wear protective eye gear but usually you don't get too much sand in your face. I like how the plant breaks up the scenery here. Perhaps a smoothing filter would help to reduce some of that horizontal streaking in the sky. Well done and take care.

Hi Yvonne,
Good photo with a simple but strong composition. In particular the addition of the tree on the right hand side works very good. Good idea to include the man in the sand as well. Good work!

Yvonne,
I love sand dune, but I hate sand getting every where in my body. I once go camping near a sand dune and it was windy. there were sand over my sleeping bad. I couldn't sleep. Very nice image here with beautiful color of the sand and a man with a young spirit. Great composition. Well done.
Way
