Photographer's Note

That's a picture taken from the limit of the Roraima's top. Roraima is the highest Tepuy in Venezuela. A tepuy is a very courious and old rocky formation. This strange "mountains" are the oldest rocky figures in the world. Its typical characteristic is its shape like a great table. The Roraima is the highest one (aprox. 2.800 m. above the sea level). The biggest one is the Auyantepuy, with its world famous waterfall called Salto del Angel (the highest in the world with more than 1.000 m.).

If you want to reach the top and take a picture like this one, you must make a trek that takes 6 days long from the city Santa Elena de Uairen. The top of the Tepuys are full of very corious rocks, and its atmosphere are like the image of another planet. Therefore, Arthur Conan Doyle took here his inspiration to write his book "The Lost World".

At the top of the Roraima is the triple border between Venezuela, Brazil and Guyana.
