La Cruz del Padre Photo

Photographer’s Note

Estas ruinas se encuentran ubicadas vía Guaríco en el estado Lara, se trata de las ruinas de una antigua iglesia católica que tenia por objetivo convertir a los muy abundantes indígenas de la zona a la religión católica.

La historia, que ha sido transmitida de boca a oido durante años, cuenta que un padre fundó la iglesia, y al construirla escondió dentro de la misma una jarra llena de monedas de oro que estaba destinada a favorecer el cumplir su misión de convertir a los indigenas.

Unos ladrones, en busca de este tesoro picaron y rompieron los muros de la iglesia, y luego, mataron al padre. La iglesia quedó abandonada, hasta que encontró su destino final por los años 1950, cuando un terremoto terminó por acabar con lo poco que quedaba.

En la foto, se muestra lo que queda de esta iglesia, y la zona donde ella está, lleva por nombre La Cruz del Padre en honor a lo que él fundador de la misma padeció.

Very impressive shot.
I like these ruins very much. Unfortunately, I couldn't understand your note but it's supposed to be sth informative.
Mighty ruins of a temple I presume, right?
I like your POV and the perspective.

This is an interesting and beautiful photo - with a very special atmosphere! i lilke especially the buildup and the good depth here, and the natural colours.Unfortunately I cannot understand your note.

Informative note and great exposure. Composition is good, perhaps better if the leaves in the bottom left were pushed out. It looks like a lovely valley to explore.

Hola Mauro, bonita foto e increible historia. Un aspecto curioso en la foto, es el cactus que hay arriba del muro, creo que tiene forma de cruz. Es como si las ruinas no quisieran olvidar la función por la que fueron creadas.

Mauro,
a very interesting shot with a very good note. It even seems that nature is rendering respect to this padre. Did you notice the cactus on the top of the ruins? It has the shape of a cross! The ruins seems to be pretty solid and will stay there for another amount of decades.

Sad story, that happens too often.
I like your point of view, with the wall in diagonal, set against the mountains in the background.The area seems to be inhabitated.

triste destin pour cette église et son "padré", une vision désenchantée de la cupidité triomphante...
la nature a repris ses droits et ce petit cactus au sommet du mur semble reconstruire une croix...tremblements de terre, voleurs,le temps..n'ont pu empêcher cette petite renaissance
