Police watching Photo

Photographer’s Note

The police watching a peaceful protest which was heading towards the ombudsman's office to request the respect of freedom of expression. I was impressed that there were 3 rows of policemen, but, the again, there were over 100 military were waiting for the protesters in front of the ombudsman's office who should be protecting the rights of citizens and not the building where he works.

There have been many protests since the oldest Venezuelan TV channel (53 years old) was closed some 3 weeks ago. These protests have been mainly organized by university students.

Excelente trabajo de documentación!
No es muy difícil conseguir este escena en la Caracas de hoy, pues es algo que se repite casi a diario.
Muy bueno el encuadre con esa cerrada formación de policías...evidentemente, por esa calle ni por muchas otras se puede pasar.

Excellent documentation work! It's not very difficult to obtain this scene in the Caracas of now, because that's something that is repeated almost daily.
Very good the framing with that closed formation of police... evidently, through that street nor through many others people can cross it.

yvonne,
you capture the moment of turmoil of a society. the irony of the situation is well depicted in your note. in my humble opinion this is a great photo journalistic work.
