Photographer's Note

Just a shot of the Avila during sunset in Caracas. I like the wavy silhouette of the mountain and the colors and the texture of the sky.

The Avila is the mountain range separating Caracas from the shore and protecting it from tropical storms. It also helps you to get oriented in the capital city as it represents the north. This mountain is a favorite to hike for many, but right now the access has been restricted to five specific points because the dry season has been harsh on the mountain. You can also get to the top of the mountain by cable car.

Cropped to get rid of a bit of roof I could not avoid while taking the picture through my window, and resized to match TE standards. Colors were not modified.
