Seagull in paradise Photo

Photographer’s Note

Another shot taken in the marvelous paradise of Los Roques, an archipel with over 300 islands and islets in the Caribbean, just in front of Venezuelan mainland. I just love the colors of Los Roques: the white sand, the gree-blue clear water, the blue sky. There are a lot of seagulls and pelicans, and I just got one of each on this shot. I hope you like it.

Los Rogues was declared National Park in 1972 in order to protect wildlife in its terrestrial and aquatic areas, specially its many species of birds. The underwater world is also abundant; therefore, it is a great destination for snorkelers and scuba divers.

Yes, you are right. The colors in the water, sand and sky make that place seem to be like paradise!

Hi Yvonne, your image is simple but effective. The birds are almost comical...wells spotted. I like the shine on the small breaking wave lapping the shoreline. The bird on the beach looks like it's giving a comentary of the scene.

My only suggestion would be to boost the exposure with software to give the image a little more life...I've done a WS to show you what I mean.

Hi YvonneNo doubt it is paradise.You have captured bird and boat.Lovely green color reminds me of the maldives in Arabian Sea.That country also have hundreds o small islands.TFS

Lovely and well framed shot Yvonne. Los Roques was the place we wanted to see as well during our last trip....but we had not enough time. We're keeping it for the next time when visiting also the west part of the country and the beginning of the Andes mountains...
