Photographer's Note

Hello,

In January this year I had amassing opportunity to be a photographer for Polish climbing expedition to Venezuela. Our team succeeded to create new sport root called „Mysterious". Whole trip lasted almost a month and during strong winter in Poland I was living in very hot Guiana Highland.

Photo was taken at the end of our trip because in the beginning there where no clouds. When expedition was about to finish the weather changed dramatically. The place that you see here is very close to the base camp. Single soft graduaded Lee filter and polarizer with camera on the tripod. Body Canon 5D Mark II and Canon 16-35 f2.8 -- for me right now the best digital solution for landscapes. With live view You can precisely plan dof or whole scenario. With the big screen You can check the picture and be 100% sure already in the field that the sharpness superb.

It sounds like you had quite the time in Veneuzuela!
This is an amazing landscape shot, I very much like the composition and the light on the rocks in the fg. The dof is excellent, as is the light management and the colours. The clouds are beautiful and fill the sky nicely.

A dramatic, dynamic, spectacular landscape. The light and shadow are superb and the composition is so well conceived. I like very much the sharpness of the grasses in the foreground, and the dramatic sky which you have achieved with your ND filter. Wonderful shot.

Magnifique paysage sur une photo composé très bien avec un premier plan extra comme le sont les rochers qui nous emmène vers la montagne et enfin vers le ciel,les couleurs foncés et les contrastes forts grâce a une lumière superbe sont excellents,bravo.
