Photographer’s Note
I went to Chirimena this weekend, a very small town close to Higuerote in Miranda State (some 2 1/2 hours from Caracas). The beaches are beautiful and clean with strong waves and there are some nice inns.
If you want to eat something at the beach, there are some interesting options. The first one is the "pescadito frito" (fried fish) which you can get even for breakfast. The lady on the picture was taking one just out of the frying pan. You could also eat "tostones" at her kiosk (green, flattened, fried plantains with ketchup, mayonnaise and shredded white cheese).
