Photographer’s Note

Yesterday, we went for a BBQ to the Colonia Tovar, a small German town in Venezuela, characterized by a Black Forrest type architecture. All buildings have red roofs and dark lines on the white walls. This town was founded by German settlers and, besides its typical architecture, it is famous for its strawberries or peaches with cream, meringues and typical German food such as sausages and Eisbein. The weather here is cooler and more humid than in Caracas. It takes you about 2 h per car to get here.

From Wikipedia:

"The city is mainly known for its Germanic characteristics, culture, and a dessert called "golfiado", which is very similar to a cinnamon bun. Being founded in 1843 by German settlers, the city remained isolated from the rest of the country for decades, a factor that permitted the inhabitants to keep their culture and traditions. The majority of its residents are descendants of Germans and have a Northern European appearance. The Alemannic dialect Alemán Coloniero is nearly extinct. Today, 6000 people live in the village opposed to the 1300 inhabitants in 1963. "

This shot was taken from using almost 12X of optical zoom. I decreased contrast, because it was slightly overexposed. The shot was resized and a frame added.
