Photographer’s Note
It was a rainy day when we encountered this anteater feeding in the open grassland. I walked downwind next to it and shot several pictures of this beatiful animal. I hope you like it.

Neat creature. From a photographic perspective, if you adjust the levels and boost the saturation a bit, this will be a much more interesting image.

Agree with Mitch, the grass doesn't look quite right. Other than that it's an excellent shot :-)

Yes, the grass looks wrong, and also there's a shadow along his nose that makes his face look fuzzy. I think it all comes from the flash - it seems to have been too strong. Was it the built-in flash for the camera, or a separate hotshoe unit? Good-quality hostshoe flashes normally deliver better results, but I think for nature photogrpahy you might need special equipment. Not that I'd know, since I don't do any nature photography :-).

Nice capture, is it rare to see giant anteaters there or are they fairly common?
