Photographer’s Note

This is another picture taken in the National Park Mochima. Most of its beaches can only be reached by "peñeros" (fishermen boats). On the way to one of the beaches we passed close by to a cliff and I couldn't resist taking a picture of its color contrast with the water.

"Mochima national park is located in the northeast of Venezuela, between the cities of Barcelona and Cumana. It covers 94935 hectares of sea coastlines and mountains. Islands, islets, bays, peninsulas, gulfs, cliffs and an exceptional underwater beauty are featured in this national park. The flora and fauna are extraordinary and quite varied due to the many different habitats of the islands and continental areas.

The sand is white, shaded along the mainland coast by the quivering shadow of the palm trees. Tourists swarm these beaches (la piscina,el faro,el saco...) to go sailing, diving, or just to bask in the sun celebrating the wonders of the sea and of this beautiful coast. "
