Photographer’s Note

La ciudad de Treinta y Tres, en el departamento del mismo nombre, es muy conocida por estar junto al río Olimar, por su grupo de músicos de folklore Los Olimareños y por sus tres puentes sobre el río. Además de que su nombre se debe a los Treinta y Tres orientales, grupo de hombres que luchó por la libertad de nuestro país.

En la foto se pueden ver unos pequeños botes (o barcos) a remo, que son utilizados para cruzar el río y extraer arena que es vendida para obras. Al fondo uno de sus puentes, pero si miramos con mucha atención veremos también dos puentes más uno de menor porte utilizado
por bicicletas y motos y otro más atras que es el puente del tren (o ferrocarril).
A orillas del Olimar cada año se realiza un importante festival de canto y folklore.

The city of Treinta y Tres (Thirty Three), in the department (state) of the same name, is well-known to be next to the Olimar river, by its group of folklore musicians "the Olimareños" and by his three bridges over the river.
In addition its name is because the Treinta y Tres Orientales (Thirty Three Eastern ones) a group of men who fought for the freedom of our country.
In the photo small boats can be seen, that are used to cross the river and to extract sand that is sold for works.
On the background one of its bridges, but if you watched carefully you will see two more bridges. One the smallest is usually used by bicycles and motorcycles the other, the farthest bridge is the train (or railroad) bridge.
At the shore of the Olimar river an important festival of music and folklore is made every year.

Hola Ines,

Nice subject. The brige as a guide to our eys and the boats on the first plan works. The washed sky doesn't help much. I also think that the composition would be less charged if you had moved further and included only the boats from the blue one and after.

Oi, Ana Ines! Foto muito legal, de perspectiva arrojada e reflexos muito bons. Os barcos e os galhos floridos dão especial beleza ao quadro como um todo. Gosto mueito de fotos de rios e esta me parece excelente. Parabéns! Saludos desde Rio! Miguel.

Great shot with intersting shapes caused by the reflection in the river, and with the repetitive curves of the bridge spans. The highly angular nature of the concrete is softened by the wooden boats in the forground.

Una composición muy bonita, tanto por los botes en primer plano como el reflejo del puente. Lástima el cielo, que no sé si estaba nublado, pero ha quedado demasiado blanquecino.
Curioso que un bote tenga las letras al revés !!
