Photographer's Note

At the end of 19th century José Buchental, a rich owner of a bank, bought this area , crossed by Miguelete stream. He wanted to make a huge private park with flowers, trees and animals, bringing his wife to live here. For some reason she didn’t come and after some time the government bought the area and it was opened to the public in 1873.
In this image we can see one of the streets that crosses the park, near Miguelete stream. These palm trees are Jerivás (called Pindó in Uruguay). We can see the storm arriving too.
This is my last post showing Montevideo, tomorrow I will take you to the north, crossing the country.

No final do século 19 José Buchental, um rico banqueiro, comprou esta área cortada pelo Arroio Miguelete, pensando em fazer dela um parque privado, repleto de flores, árvores e animais, queria trazer sua esposa para viver aqui , mas por alguma razão ela nunca veio. Anos depois o governo comprou a área e abriu ao público em 1873.
Na imagem vemos uma das ruas que cortam o parque, nas proximidades do arroio Miguelete. Vemos também algumas palmeiras jerivá (chamadas de pindó pelos uruguaios). Podemos reparar ainda que uma tempestade estava á caminho.
Esta é minha última postagem de Montevidéu, amanhã levarei vocês a atravessar o país rumo ao norte.

Uma foto com belas cores, incluindo os grafitis.
As palmeiras ficaram muito bem. Aquele edifício é que parece um pouco inclinado.

muito bom a quantidade de temas interessantes nessa sua foto. O rapaz na cadeira de rodas, o céu preparando-se para molhar o solo e a igreja mais ao fundo.

Jorge,
Your composition is nice with the off center placement of the building with the road leading the eye to the shot. The lighting and colors are great with excellent sharpness and detail. The trees frame the scene nicely helping to focus our attention on the main subject.

Una interesante vista de este lugar, me gusta mucho como se estructura en el cielo las palmeras y las ramas de los otros arboles, crean un bonito grafismo, bonitos colores y buena luz.

The road and framing directs our attention right to the little church!
A fine tropical setting captured with lovely colours, some splashes of red offer some contrast to the dominating blue and green...
A balanced composition with good depth!
