Piriápolis was the first city created in Uruguay to be a beach town where tourists could enjoy the sea and summer (1893). Who had this idea was Piria, a business man from Montevideo. It is told he was loved by esoteric things and this town is full of magical signs. In that day I was coming from Punta del este, located not so far from here; I had plans to stay some hours in Piriápolis and go away to spend the rest of the day in Montevideo. It was dark when I arrived in the bus station and it was difficult to found a place to store my luggage, after some time I found a lord who helped me and I walked to the beach. The day was beggining and I took my first shots in the cold morning, at northern edge of the Plate river estuary, or Atlantic sea, if you prefer.. In the background you can see Cerro Pan de azucar again, the same mountain you saw yesterday.

Piriápolis foi a primeira cidade uruguaia criada para ser um balneário turístico (1893). Quem teve a ideia foi Piria, um empreendedor de Montevideo que tinha um grande apego às coisas esotéricas, dizem que por conta disto há na cidade muitos signos místicos. Naquele dia eu estava vindo de Punta del Este, localizada bem próxima daqui, tinha planos de gastar algumas horas em Piriápolis e seguir para Montevideo onde passaria o resto do dia. Ainda estava escuro quando desci na rodoviária, mas foi difícil encontrar um local para deixar minha bagagem, algo que foi resolvido por um senhor; depois disto, fui até a praia enquanto o sol principiava a nascer às margens do lado norte do estúário do rio da Prata, ou Oceano Atlântico, se você preferir. Estava um pouco frio. Ao fundo vemos a silhueta do Cerro Pan de Azucar, a mesma montanha que vocês viram na foto postada ontem.
