Este es el monumento ecuestre más grande del mundo, pesa 135.000 Kg. Tiene casi 18 metros de altura y 9 metros de largo.
Fue inaugurado el 19 de octubre del año 1974, creado por el Escultor Setillo Belloni, y se encuentra en la cima del Cerro Artigas.
La figura representa a nuestro Procer José Gervasio Artigas.

This monument is the biggest monument of a man mounted a horse of the world, it weights 135,000 kg (297,624 pounds) and has almost 18 meters height and 9 meters in length.
It was inaugurated on October 19 , 1974, and was created by the sculptor Setillo Belloni, and it is in the top of Artigas' Hill.
The figure represents our national hero (Procer) José Gervasio Artigas.
