Photographer’s Note

We were in trip with my friend Kency from TrekEarth when he was in Suriname for vacation last year. We went to Brownsberg / Brokopondo with a group from Paramaribo after 2.5 hours of long, difficult trip and we climb down to one of small water fall there named "Leo Val"

She was our guide during the tour.

In workshop version you can see another frame while lady enjoying under waterfall.

Brownsberg Nature Park : Brownsberg Nature Park was established in 1970 and is Suriname’s first and only national park. Since its creation, the Park has become one of the most popular nature recreation areas in Suriname. It is an excellent bird-watching area. It has unique habitats, such as moss forest, as well as endemic plant species. It also harbors a very diverse wildlife. The Foundation for Nature Conservation in Suriname has been successful in promoting the Park as a recreation destination. Equally critical, since it seeks to foster nature conservation in all of Suriname, is that opportunities be created at Brownsberg Nature Park for Surinamers to learn about nature. The Park hosted 17,000 mostly Surinamese visitors in the year 2001, which is equivalent to more than four percent of the total population of Suriname. Currently, it is the most popular nature destination in the country. It consequently offers unique opportunities for effective nature education, exposure to nature research, and the nation-wide promotion of love and respect for nature. On-the-job training of Surinamers in ecological research can be undertaken at the Park, in conjunction with facilitation of research and monitoring by national and international research teams. This will yield skilled personnel and critical information. The Park can become a place where monitoring techniques can be learned, and where studies on the sustainable use of the rainforest can be initiated. By exposing visitors to these techniques, studies and their results, the Park will effectively become a “Rainforest School”. Easy access and good facilities make it an attractive place to observe and learn.

Great composition with a good vertical format to catch this fantastic waterfall. Besides, you catch an activity under the water, with the function of shower that your guide is enjoying.
Such a green environment of the tropical vegetation is impressive.

Yes,I remember this on very well Ertu.
It was very hot that day,but I enjoy every minute of the trip.

Technically and documentally it's great, but I "don't see" much more in it... Sorry...
With this I don't mean you shouldn't post it, well at contrary. TE and photography in genarl aren't only about "great" photos, the rest is also very important and pleasant.

Hello Ertugrul, waterfalls are always fascinating. I love to see all the different techniques to shoot them. Long exposure, extremeley fast shutter, etc. The water will always contribute with great outcome. You got something quite interesting here with the sun shining on the top part of the fall and also at the bottom and leaving the mid-section in the dark. What a wonderful luxious green around and the crowning piece is the guide takinf here shower.

Olá Ertugrul, a very enjoyable picture, with an impressive 'jump' of the water fall. I bet it would hurt to stay right under that water ;-) It must have been a great trip and it sure worthed well the effort. Good alternative in ws, as well, especially the water speed effect.

Interessante imagem, ainda mais com a moça embaixo da queda d´água! Penso que um pouco mais de tempo na exposição, com uma abertura menor no obturador o efeito de movimento da água ficaria ainda melhor!

Nice capture of waterfall and the lady which gives a sense of scale to your photo. I almost prefer the WS because we see the falling water from a closer POV and the woman in movement.

nice this shot with your friend to seat near the waterfall after enjoying under it.I know this sense because of three year ago during a hike,i found my self under a waterfall.I stayed only 20-25" because of the frozen water.Nice the shot with the well management of the water flow.Informative your note too.
