Photographer’s Note
Sinked boats on Suriname River's muddy bed are waiting high-tide period for their return to next shore.
Kismet may refer to, Destiny, a predetermined course of events. It may be conceived as a predetermined future, whether in general or of an individual. It is a concept based on the belief that there is a fixed natural order to the universe.
The word kismet (alt., rarely, kismat) derives from the Arabic word qismah, and entered the English language via the Turkish word kısmet, meaning either "the will of Allah" or "portion, lot or fate". In English, the word is synonymous with fate or destiny. More info about destiny on Wikipedia is here...
Update 29th October 2008 : Thanks to Dear Eino (Dumbo) informed me with valuable information that Kismet is also a Finnish chocolate bar produced by Fazer. More info about Kismet (chocolate bar) on Wikipedia here...
Converted from RAW.
(PS. The white point on sky and yellow stain on mud are flying birds. Due to my principles I'm not cleaning them as before)
Many cheers you to all,

Olá Ertugrul,
At first I missed that overwhelming sensation of expanse of your river photos because of the almost frontal POV, putting the pier and the row of boast parallel to the horizon, but of course I was wrong, as the clouds give that perspective feeling that is so characteristic of your posts. Nevertheless, it's a bit of an originality in your gallery. Another great photo with a very simple subject.
An I have learnt a new Turkish/English/Arabic word today. TFS!
Regards, José.

It is a very nice composition with the sky taking a major place in the frame. The exposure is excellent considering the time of the day which I believe was very close to mid-day. You have done very well.

Hi Ertugrul,
The muddy low tide delta makes a lovely canvas to catch the striking reflection of the dock and many traditional small fishing vessels waiting for the rhythm of nature to return them to the sea.
Wonderful tropical blue sky with its thick white clouds to contrast so nicely with the muddy river.

Hello Ertugrul:
The law of thirds is very well established in this picture. He has given much importance to the dramatic sky, with its majestic clouds and warm tones.
The contrast with the wooden pier and the boat as it is harmonious. Good job.

Merhaba Ertugrul,
Kismet is the same word in Bulgarian too (like many other Turkish words), only our meaning is more like "good luck"...
I wish you good kismet, and to all those Surinamese people, that have found their kismet around the river.
Friendly,
Anton

Hello,
Great photo with beautiful sky and the boats stuck on mud.
Kismet is also a Finnish chocolate bar and the vivid color of the mud is just like the wrapping paper of Kismet.
You can check some information about the chocolate bar from this site:

Olá Ertugrul, splendid graphic stripe on the bottom of your composition. I can even see 3 silhouetted owners inside the boats which is a nice bonus here. Beautiful with all the sky above.

Olá Ertugrul,
um porto interessante esse improvisado, mas o que sempre mais me chama a atenção nessas fotos da região é a cor barrenta da água, forma um belo contraste de cores.
Parabéns e Abraço

Hi Ertugrul, these are splendid colors. i like the subtleness, very much looking like a fine expressionism painting and the contrast between the poles and the boats with people inside is perfect. Have a good weekend! Rgds, Alex

Hello Ertugrul!
Although I think there a bit of "too much sky" in this image, that certainly does not spoil the overall result, specially the bottom part of this image that pleases me a lot! All those boats and posts, the color of the water contrasting with the green of the forest in the background! I really like it, I mean it!
TFS - Congratulations!
Warmest regards!
