Photographer’s Note

Traditional passenger boats are waiting their returns on Suriname River. Most inhabitants prefer to use those boats for jumping to next shore and also for their return due to short distance, short duration and cheap prices (approximately $0.50) instead of using their cars or motorcycles.

Hello Ertugrul,

A superb sky blue with beautiful couds and its refelections in the river. A very good depht with the boats in the Fg and the landscape in the BG. Beautiful colours too especially the blue of the boats and the color of the water.

Merhaba Ertuğrul bey, sizin artık Surinam Nehri'ylle ilgili bir belgesel kitabı yayınlamanızın zamanı geldi. Birbirinden güzel ve değişik fotoğraflarla bu coğrafyanın ustası olmuşsunuz çünkü. Bu botlardan birine binip nehrin iki yakası arasında gidip gelmek, ortamın kokusunu duymak isterdim.

Acaba Amazon havzasındaki bitki ve hayvan varlığı, Surinam havzasında da mevcut mu?

It is always interesting to see river transport being used before any development of road network takes over such mode.

I can say this scene looks very much at home for similarity as that of a town in Sarawak, called Sibu. The color of water and the style of boats can be easily be mistaken.

Even the sky and cloud formation is alike.

Amazing sense of depth, my eyes keep following the boat on the distance and surpassing to the place beyond the horizon where the clouds seem to be going. I don't ven mention the light, colours and sharpness...
