Photographer’s Note
Surinamese habanero chilis ready to sell.
The habanero chile (Capsicum chinense Jacquin) (sometimes incorrectly spelled "habañero") is one of the most intensely spicy species of chili peppers of the Capsicum genus. Unripe habaneros are green, and they color as they mature. Common colors are orange and red, but white, brown, and pink are also seen. Typically a ripe habanero is 2–6 centimeters (1–2½ in) long. More on Wikipedia
Most habaneros will rate between 200,000 and 300,000 Scoville units. It means they are very, very hot. They can give unbearable burn feeling if you touch to cut, chopped pieces even by naked hand. You can find a whole or few chopped pieces mostly in all Surinamese dish.
The Scoville scale is a measure of the hotness or piquancy of a chili pepper, as defined by the amount of capsaicin, (a chemical compound which stimulates nerve endings in the skin) present.
Some hot sauces use their Scoville rating in advertising as a selling point.
Many cheers you to all and have a nice, wonderful week end.

Hi Ertugrul,
I find very difficult to have good result shoting food, but you really got it here. Nice dof and framing to usolate chilies in the background for the ones you choose to shoot. The variety of colors also is a plus here. Lovelly hot picture!

Hi Ertugrul-
Excellent photo of these hot chiles - lighting, colors and clarity are great.
It's definitely a good idea to wear gloves when handling habeneros. The fumes even bring tears to my eyes. And take it from me - don't try taking out your contacts after touching them!

Hi Ertugrul.
200-300 thousand on the scoville heat scale is hot - and if you like that you need to try a good old British Dorset Naga. Measured at 1,000,000 on the scoville heat scale.
technically a great photo, a good sharp image, but maybe one for TL.

Hello Ertugrul,
Oh, how I like these colorful and so spicy little things. I have tried a sauce which was 1,000,000 on the scoville heat scale and that really blew my mouth.
But this is a great photo with lots of colors and great sharpness.
Have a good weekend!

Hi Ertugrul,
Last year some British amateur chef died after eating of ONE habanero (that was a bet with his friend)!
That's the very first time, when I got the opportunity to see habaneros on photography.
Anyway - very tasty shot (if someone likes HOT chili)! :)
Best Regards, Maestro!

Hi Ertugrul,
Isn't it warm enough in Suriname that you don't have to put these little furnaces in your food?
Vibrant colors with lovely smooth textures to these red hots.
They make me sweat just to look at them.

lovely "painting" .
I have "tried" habanero once. .....
well they call it in Mexico "Nariz de perro" wich means dog's nose .. because our nose becomes wet after smelling the habanero ..

Merhaba Ertugrul,
Wonderful still life, capable of making envious many studio photographers. Impeccably well composed, amazing clarity and colours!
It's surprising that those peppers that look so alike the ones we have here (and in Turkey also) are so hot. I thought that only the little ones were really hot.
