dawn at Leonsberg Photo

Photographer’s Note

Leonsberg : Located at northern part of Paramaribo. Closer to Atlantic Ocean and at the beginning of beautiful Suriname River’s big mouth.

Suriname River’s great muddy color and really different sky here in Suriname every time. I photographed the scene an early morning from another small catwalk at Leonsberg.

Leonsberg is a Dutch name. “Berg” means “hill” in English. It means the part of this area is “Leon’s Hill” May be there was a lot of “Dutch Leon” who were protecting the Paramaribo (capital city of Suriname) during colonization period ;)

It’s time to visit Leonsberg after my dear friend Kency‘s beautiful Boat trip to Leonsberg photograph.

Hi Ertugrul,
A splendid image. The color of the water of the river is amazing, different from the habitual thing, and the sky has a light, colors and clouds really fantastic.
Good frame, and good quality in the image, you have known to take advantage of the special and smooth illumination this dawn.

I browsed through your gallery and I got stuck looking and appreciating this photo of yours. I like very much the dramatic cloud formations and the colors of the sky as it contrast with the dark muddy flood waters. Placing the horizon at the center gives it the right tension between the sky and the water. Very well done.

The light in this sky is stunning, the "V" like shape of the clouds leads the eye into the center. I like the dark silouette of the dock, well done.
