Day 2 of our 2007 trek in Perù. In trying to get used to the altitude; climbing from the Hotel (3400m) to 3600m was quite a challenge due to the lack of oxygen, but it was well worth it for a horseback ride and to visit the fortress of Sacsayhuaman. Spectacularly overlooking the Cuzco valley, it's monolitic zigzags were the mute witnesses to the spanish conquistadores who besieged it for 3 months, before demolishing it to build the churches of the city. What is left is the lower half of the walls that the spaniards were unable to move, with tourists giving the scale in the larger panoramic version, we can understand why... Not bad for a people who did not know the wheel...

Hello Bruno,
the large version really does justice to the beauty of this place. The clouds added a beautiful game of lights and shadows, giving a nice 3D effect; the quality is very good throughout, good sharpness and colours saturation. I like it!
Thanks for sharing it and regards,

Igor

bonsoir Bruno
Amicalement.
Pascale

Hi Bruno,

Thanks for Your good comments, really nice huge panoramic shot, it shows the real scale of this structure. Very good details, composition, light and colors. Interesting sky and mountains in background.

What the spanish conquistadores done during their conquest in South America is really horrible- great loss for world's culture, irreversible damage to original look of this lands. But still for me is one of 'most wanted to see' places.
Thanks for sharing,
cheers

Adrian

Hello Bruno,

Peru a country with a lot contrasts, I like your LV absolutely through the nice view about a nice part of this country.
Splendid composition and very lovely colours too.
Thank you very much for the excellent note and the different pictures in your WS.

Very well done,
John.

Bonjour Bruno,

A+

Hi Bruno
Spectacular view!!! I would love to go to Peru one day, im just waiting for the company to find a contract for me there:)
Amazing how these people managed to build this without having the wheel, and in that altitude as well, lucky the Spaniards didn't manage to get away with it all.
Very nice presentation.
Harry
