[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
On the sidewalks of Lima, as in many developing countries around the world, medicinal herbs and folk remedies are for sale. They are often accompanied by elaborate descriptions and claims. They will cure anything, for a fraction of the cost of conventional medicines.

Lima, Peru, 1974. Hell S3900 scanner.

Hejsan Chris
Excellent market picture. I really fancy all the written description behind the "medicin"
I don't know if I would trust those if I had some serious illness, but I suppose if you dont't have that much money you have to pur the trust in something.

Hi chris,
interesting photo. I do not see here cat's claw (una de gato - vilcacora) and dried lama's phoetus which are so popular in folk medicine in Peru.
I have the same problem - I have many interesting photos which are quite old and on films. What to do with them?

Best regards

Malgorzata
