Photographer's Note

C'est en pensant à tous les Péruviens qui sont dans le malheur, suite au tremblement de terre, que je poste cette photo.
Le candelabre domine la baie de Paracas, ce gigantesque géoglyphe de la même famille que les lignes de Nazca est creusé dans le sable meuble d'une grande dune.
Sa longueur est de 183 m.
Sa profondeur oscille entre 50 et 60 cm.
Le "Candélabre" est orienté Nord-Ouest - Sud-Est.
On ignore à quelle époque, et par quelle culture il fut tracé dans le sable, et s'il avait ou non un rapport avec des observations astronomiques.

It is while thinking of all the Peruvians who are in misfortune, following the earthquake, that I post this photograph.
The candelabre dominates bay of Paracas, this gigantic géoglyphe of the same family that the lines of Nazca is dug in the movable sand of a large dune.
Its length is 183 m. Its depth oscillates between 50 and 60 cm.
The "Candelabrum" is directed North-western-South-east.
One is unaware of at which time, and by which culture it was traced in sand, and if it had or not a relationship with astronomical observations.
