Now this is a perfect drawing of a mountain (nearly) of what a child would sketch. I would think I took this photo from Pisco.
The route we did was up the sunlite face and of course unless you were going to do a long trek back from another valley the descent was the same way.
I did darken the forground as this was a bit over exposed and it probably is a poor job.
I turned it into black and white as it was just shades of blue really and this is better. Ought to put the colour version in a workshop

The peak is nice, the composition is centered. I miss the white color in your B and W version.

Hi Simon,
Congratulations for this technical climb. It reminds me of the Yerupaja West Face I did back in the 80s as well. Though I'm far from being an expert in B&W photography, your photo strikes me as being quite dark in the top part and I feel that the mountain is not standing out against the sky as it should. So I had a go at a WS. Let me know what you think...
All the best.
Brigitte

Simon,
Very interesting shot from your amazing trip. The B&W option is nice to shot this beautiful view from the Artesonraju (is this the correct name?) (from Wikypedia: It is one of 50 peaks in the Cordillera Blanca mountain range, a part of the Peruvian Andes known for some of the world's best climbing. It is a beautiful ice pyramid located between the ravines of Santa Cruz to the North and Parón to the South.)

Hi Simon,
Maybe it isn't a so great photo, but it has some charm and it is very effective showing that 'perfect' mountain. Compo wise, it's not very imaginative and the fact of being so centred doesn't help. Then it's too grey - it would be much better if you had managed to put some true white on that snow.
But hey, I am glad you posted it, as it is still very pleasant to look at and useful for showing a stunning place.
TFS, Regards, José.

In a certain way, that's a minimalist post, but it has a strong visual impact... The B&W works very well for that white universe.
