We were in the Urubamba valley or the sacred valley of the Incas as it is also known when I saw this lady and her animals. The sacred valley is about 15km north of Cusco. The animals in the background are llamas and the one next to her is a baby alpaca. Llamas are able to carry up to 25kg and are used mainly as pack animals. The alpaca is a smaller animal than the llama and is used almost exclusively for its wool. They are both from the same family, generally the llama has longer ears and a tail that sticks out whilst the alpaca has longer hair.

Hello, Wanda.

A very nice picture you have taken. I liked it a lot, specially because the little and sympathetic alpaca seems to have stopped just for you and your camera. Besides, I do not know if you have noticed, but the llamas are famous for spitting at the curious ones from times to times...
Greetings,
Tiago.

Hello Wanda, what a lovely expression of both!
I like BW: it seems like a shot of past century.
Have a nice day!
Alberto

A delightful portrait; this lady looks so happy.I like the format,it looks well in b/w.
Lots to take from your shot, thank you.
Regards Jean.

Hi Wanda,
funny shot and I like her smile. It is a bit sad, that we don't see the colors as they often have beautiful ones in Peru.
There is some wire crossing the image, am I right?
Cheers, Ulf

Hi Wanda,
So touching... Both of them are smiling to us! :D
I could critique its pov or other technical aspects, but I don't think it makes any sense.
I am glad the scan quality is enough for us to enjoy it.

Hi Wanda,
Nice image, true portrait of this woman telling us much about her life. Interesting hat and clothes and good perspective with all the lamas.
regards,
maki

Hi Wanda!

Amazing "double" portrait! Great composition and great "cooperation" with your "models". Beautiful "retro" feeling. Congratulations!

Hercules

Hi Dear Wanda,

This is a great B&W picture.
Looks like an old one.
I love your compo, the both her and her beautiful Llama.
Congratulations,

Javad.

Hi Wanda,
Well, I think that a picture must transmit something to u, and this one has transmitted to me cuteness (Is that well written?)...The b&w makes it stronger.
Beautiful one
Alonso

I like it very much. It looks very funny.

Hi Wanda, lovely B&W photo, nice peaceful composition, I like the smile of the woman and also the alpaca seems to smile, very well done, have a nice week end, ciao Silvio

Freddy

Hi Wanda, as i'm discovering your gallery i see you've already visited a lot of countries and so nice ones. I stop on this picture which is really fabulous to my opinion, this little alpaca is so sweet and seems to be so smooth ... i would love to touch it :))
Very traditional picture, you chose to put it in BW, why not but peruvian colors are very beautiful, but it's your choice ;)
Excellent

Wow Wanda,
What an amazing shot this is!
Mini lama is so pretty :) you captured a perfect shot again! BW is a good choise.

Hello Wanda,
a very well captured pleasant portrait shot of the lady with the typical hat and the baby alpaca. The contrast of the b/w is very good and due to this version, the shot seems to have been taken some decades ago. Well done and have a nice Sunday!
Attila

good shot with happy smile.
baby alpaca has a funny expression.
