Photographer’s Note
Rusac in the Cordillera Huayhuash, Peru. It is the most beautiful spot I have every been in. Deadly quiet, the light, water, ice and rock. A few small alpine flowers but that was all.

Hi Simon, Whaou very impressive picture. Your composition is very good, the calm water on the first plan and the agressive mountain in the background. The look goes up naturally.
Very good shot, one more i can say when i'm looking your others.

This is a really stunning landscape Simon, and the sheer grandeur shines through in this shot. Your viewpoint looking up at the mountains emphasises their size, and they look great set against that deep blue sky.
I'm not sure we needed the patch of water at the bottom; I think just having those dark rocks would make for a stronger foreground.
Good work.
Cheers,
Ben

wow simon, you've captured some great detail here. the wispy clouds are great. it's an interesting perspective. the water at the bottom makes it seem as though the peak isn't that tall, but your pov does in fact make it look huge. it's a good effect. well done!

Simon,
I like your composition here with the contrast between the snow and lake.
The dark rock adds a good break between the white of the snow and the water. You have very good lighting and color here.

Hi Simon,
Great pov, wonderful photo of that magical and beautiful place. That dark rock and the lake on the fg make the mountains look really close without loosing a bit of their majesty.
A really impressive work, congratulations.

Hello, Simon--
Great shot, the composition is nice, with the foreground third being dark and heavy, and then soaring to the lighter peak. You nailed the exposure, also.
Thanks!

Bonjour Simon,
Très jolie image, j'aime bien la facade enneigée ainsi le fait qu'il n'y a pas de partie brêlée dans la neige.

Wow !
Magnificent POV, I like the curve and the water in the foreground.

There are many impressive shots in your gallery but this is my favourite. I've been there myself but all of my shots are on slide film and alas Santa didn't bring me a scanner this year so I can't put them on TE. The composition is excellent and the reflection is good considering that the water itself looks a bit dull. I also love the saturation of the sky. Perfect!

Hi Simon. You must have used your polarising filter in this one as you suggested me. This mountain once again brings a green smile on my lips, this time in colors, and fantastic ones. The foreground cliff makes a great effect on the mountains that seem to rise and rise in the background. I also like the calm green of the water in contrast to the dark blue in the right upper corner, "frames" the motive in a nice way. Well done again. Best regards Jens

this is the typical shot which does not deserve any comment. You were there, you captured it, and the result speaks for itself! Congratulations, great shot, Dario

Hi Simon
I hadn't noticed this one before, it is quite beautiful!
I like the still water and rock that you have used as foreground, usually it is very difficult to capture a mountain scene, often i find that what seem breathtaking when you are there just comes out as yet another shot with mountain peaks when you get home.
This is definitely not the case here, a very good composition and a real beauty.

Harry

A very impressive shot of a wonderful location - the colours are vibrant (as I'd expect from a slide), in fact the image is appearing as extremely sharp & clear on my screen. Great viewpoint & composition too.

Hello Simon,
Great picture :) The foreground is very sharp and the whole composition balances very well. And of course, these mountains made of rocks and ice flutes is amazing.
Best regards,

What an incredible view, Simon!
beautifully composed and exposed.
Snow highlights don't seem to be blown and the rocks still retain detail.
POV and foreground interest are well chosen and the perspective draws the eye up higher and higher.
TFS,
Hauke
