Day 11 - People were still wainting for their guides and the sun to go down the ruins whem we decided to explore the city by ourselves. I looked up in a kind of indecision... Should I stay or should I go? It was them that I saw the silhouettes and decided to try this picture. The house that appears is what some people say the 'gardian' house. It's the hieghst building, located on the upper terraces outside the city gate. Machu Pichu is divided on a rural area - the terraces that encircle the village and the urban area which has a unique access. Many are the teories and suppositions about this place and the reason it remains forgottem for so many centuries. For those interested the book Machu Picchu and the Ica Road, from professor Victor Angles Vargas is an interesting ad ilustrative book. I bought it in Cusco, not sure you can find it outside Peru.

Picture was cropped on the botton. A different POV is on WS, please let me know wich one you preffer. A slightly different POV and speed is also available in WS showing the terraces bellow this house.

i find the workshop more charming although you used slow shutter speed in workshop but it is quite sharp and well detailed dear your note is very informative

Bonjour Flavia,

Hi Flavia
I like your picture for what is left to the imagination.
A place well known,a place that I have discoved,A place that have left its mark in my soul.
Good pesentation of this famous house, and the presence of the peoples,of which I was one of them recently, makes a good composition.
It has an impact on me.
I have started to post my own souvenir of Machu-Picchu and i is a pleasure to relive them.

Have a good weekend
Charles
