Photographer’s Note
This is, I think, the last of the shots from my mad dash acrros the ruins. This shot differs from the others in that with this one the sun is actually hitting the grass transforming it into a brilliant, almost neon, green. That is what stuck me most about the Peruvian Highlands: all the many and varied shades of green. I am not sure if it is the altitude, the soil, or the species in that part of the world, but there were so many greens and they were all vibrant in such in a way that the camera was seldom able to replicate. This image comes close. in the left hand corner are terraces and a few builbings from Machu Pichu just shortly after the sun stated hitting them.
This image was slightly sharpened and contrast adjusted in the background to bring out the detail from the rain.

I really love shots of Machu Picchu, because it seems such a magical place. But this just shows how magical. Wow, it's like a sign from God! Well seen and captured, Hubert!

Hi Hubert,
this is a great, great shot. I love the way that the area between the two rainbows is clearer than the rest - just blame the laws of physics! I know what you mean about the variety and intensity of the shades of green up there - I think it might have something to do with the altitude, and the purity of the atmosphere. Very well captured. TFS, Colin.
