[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is the first of many postings from my recent trip to Peru. I can honestly say that this is the most beautiful place I have ever been. I was fortunate enough to visit the Highlands during the tail end of the rainy season, so everything was in vivid shades of green. At the end of the second day at Machu Picchu we had two rain storms come through. The first one produced these rainbows. I must have looked like a mad man running through the ruins snapping shot after shot in the rain. This is one of the many images from that mad dash. It has been slightly rotated and level adjusted. Let me know what you think.

Magical, whimsycal, beautiful details and nicely composed.

Hi Hubert,
Even without rainbow this was a very spectacular picture. The walls are very impressive and the dark background is perfect. But with the rainbow the picture becomes something magic from ancient times.

A well-captured scene, Hugh. The stone ruins are beautiful and the rainbow perfectly placed in the frame with the tree to punctuate it. I like how the steep valley in the background appears to be bottomless.

Hello Hubert,
great nice shot. Because of mist the mountains behind are not so clear but is a really nice capture. I will post a workshop trying to make it more clear.
Regards,
Alberto.

Hi Hubert,
I think the POV is well choosen to show us the old stones from these beautiful ruins. You caught the rainbow at the right moment which fits perfectly in that spectacular scenery....
All the best,
Marilyn

Hi Hubert - a refreshing rare original MP shot, exquisite timing, the rainbow has a special place among the lush green and stonework.

Hi Hubert
Beautiful POV, I like the colours and this rainbow...
This place is so wonderful... I hope, I'll go one day :)
TFS - Regards
Aline

Hi Grav,

You were lucky to see double rainbow over Machu Picchu. I can imagine this mad man running. It is such a wonderful place. I was there some years ago. I came with the first bus when no people were around and the ruins were coming out of clouds. A few lamas were going through the gates. Unfortunetely at that time I had no camera so this is saved only in my mind.

Cheers

Malgorzata

Wonderful shot
Bellissima!
Ciao Bianca

Hi Grav,
Wow, excellent, well worth the dash through the rain. Almost hard to believe such a beautiful place exists.
Regards,
Brian

Hi Hubert,
What a nice picture, at the right moment, from an unusual POV. I'm so tired of seeing the same pictures of Machu Picchu, it's wonderful to see some originality!
