Photographer’s Note
After nearly a week in the Amazon, I was on a boat heading back to Iquitos. On the way, we stopped at this little riverside shop in Tamshiyacu.
The young boy attending the shop, Roberto, had this pissed off expression that I could see from far out at sea. As we approached, he didn't move from the position you see here. He simply remained as he was, following us in with his agitated stare.
I'm not sure what he was so bothered at, I didn't ask. But we did exchange a few words. Enough for me to find out his name, that he was 12 years old, and that he ran this village shop most of the day. I assume it belongs to his family.
Other than gas for the boats, you can see from the sign behind that they sell sugar, rice, and other sundries.
This was shot from the boat just as we pulled up.

Nice note & great capture. I love the expression on his face as well as all the color surrounding him. Nicely done.

Hi Todd! I like the blurred background, focus on the subject, lighting and colors here! You captured him in his most fearsome look :) The background looks very intersting - looks like a small peaceful village! Very good work! rgds.

Hi Todd,
Great shot, the boy's look is amazing.
We don't know the chance we have, that our children can go to school and learning what they want, so they can't build theyre lives like they want.
