Photographer’s Note
These are salt pans used to collect salty water than runs off from a hot spring high above. When the water evaporates, the salt is collected. The salt pans are individually owned and have been passed down from generation to generation, some of them in the same family since Inca times.

Very impressive and informative shot, never seen that before. It's completely in TE's philosophy as some of the ones you've been posting lately.
The only thing I would have liked more on tat pic is human presence that would have given a scale to the salt pans.
Maybe there is but it's then even bigger that I would imagine!

Great picture (again!). Nice color, very interesting subject, great framing.
I definitely see some silhouettes (even one with a rake). The subject is very original and dead center in TE's TOS. In fact sometimes, one can have a picture of great interest but not so good looking, sometimes, the picture can be great but not adequate for TE. You match the two goals here! Congratulations, I will wait for your next shots :)

Very interesting shot. Great brown tones. The pan with green water (top right) is a great addition, I think. One of my favorite...

I realy like this Mimi. I was brought here from the forums, and without knowing to look for the people, I would never have seen them. The shot looks great as it is (although perhaps could use just a little sharpening), but once I realize the scale of things it is actually hard to get my head around things. This place is very interesting, and something I knew nothing about previous to your shots. I also like the lines created by the walles of each terrace. Nice shot.

wow this is pretty impressive, it looks like you were really high up - in a hellicopter or something?
If they are individually owned, one wonders how you find your section again?

Another very impressive shot!
The play of repetitive patterns made by the soft coloured pans gives a very attractive image. And of course, here again, the framing is perfect!...

I like your informative and through notes that help understand what we see in the photos. Fine shot too, of course!
