Photographer's Note
Taken outside of Tamshiyacu, a river town in the Amazon located an hour from Iquitos, Peru by speed boat.
These two girls were making a trip with their mother from a farm (usually away from the river) towards town (always on the river). We offered to help them for a little while, but they wouldn't let us! I particularly liked the younger girl's expression (cautious) in contrast with the older girl's (amused).
