No matter where you travel to around the world, its always a good feeling to come home.
Part of coming home also means that I come back to TE!
Spending three and a half weeks in Peru, Chile and Easter Island was a time I'll never forget, and I want to share some of those memories with you.
I'm not the guy who seeks out people photo's but I couldn't resist this little girl. If she looks sort of funny in the scene its because she noticed me from far away and was actually running toward me. As she got closer and closer she Jumped and landed directly infront, only a foot or two from the camera lens.
Hope you enjoy it, See you Around!

hi Craig, I was waiting impatiently for your new photos. Also on FB you were not specially active. I hope it will change :). Yes, the most exciting moments in all trips are the first one, when I come to the new place, full of hope for the big adventure. And the other is when I am safely home with my family. I am sure it was unforgettable journey. Machu Picchu and Easter Island were my dream places for over thirty years. Charming girl with rosy cheeks.
Welcome home (TE)!

Glad to hear you had a great time, I look forward to seeing your captures from these exotic places!
This is a beautiful shot, the little girl has a wonderful expression that cannot but make you smile. THe perspective on the building is very interesting too, nice angle and slight upwards POV. A very nice people shot!

they must be paying you too much ;-). Wondered where you had gone and now I know I am so jealous. South America is one place I would love to see and Easter Island has always fascinated me since I was a kid in school. Look forward to seeing the images which no doubt will be awesome. This first one is a stunning start, your usual amazing wide angle composition but with the fg human element just adding to the appeal and attraction. Welcome back mate!
Regards - Brian.

Good to see you back after yet more long distant travels. This little girl is a real charmer and you have captured her beautifully in her surroundings. A pleasure to see children so full of life and lacking self-consciousness.

Having read your note, I can now appreciate her position! A great introduction to a place when the locals throw themselves at you! V well composed and sharp considering the spontaneity.
How long have you been away!!
Did you win the lottery?
Easter Island is one of those places that are like a magnet. Can't wait to see shots from there!
Have a lovely day,

good to see you back!looks like you had busy month behind you:)
This one is really good, especially in combination with your wide-angle lens, because there is so much to see behind this little girl. And the girl looks so sweet and curious.
The image is a good foretaste of what you will present to us in the coming weeks or even months.I´m glad to read not only I can´t wait to see your pictures from Easter Island or I don´t know if you visited it too- Atacama Desert in Chile.
Have a good day

C'est vrai que chez toi, on s'attend plus à voir des photos d'architecture que des photos comme celle-ci. Pourtant il y a quelque chose de très attirant à voir cette petite fille courir vers toi ainsi.

Welcome back, I've missed you and T, but it's been good keeping up with you on Instagram. How unusual for you to load a people shot as your first photo. Good one, matey, it's so good to see you doing different things. And I see you've made a little friend, what a cutie and how adorable that she felt so comfortable playing around with you like that. I like the perspective created by the wide-angle lens. It's a pity about the feet being cut off, but I reckon this little lady was moving so fast you wouldn't have stood a chance. Getting her so sharp is admirable. Great colours and a beautiful story behind the photo. Because as cool as the places are, it's all about the people and the memories, isn't it?
Thanks for sharing, have a great day and welcome back!

Welcome back! I guess you had a great time on your vacation, and have lots of new pictures to share:) Lovely shot this even though this wide angle lens is not a lens we usually associate with portraits, but it works fine here, and in addition we get a common Craig-style of shot with a wonderful description of the architecture and the surrounding environment. lovely work:) TFS. Have a nice day.

Lovely to see you back here again! And I'm really looking forward to seeing your South American pictures and hearing all your amazing stories of your travels!
This is a brilliant picture and, from your note, I can just imagine this little girl taking a hop, skip and jump and landing just in front of you! You've caught her in a really "decisive moment" as she's landed, and we see her happy smile as she looks upon these foreign people from the north with interest and perhaps just a little suspicion.
But your background is interesting too with the long low building and the trees behind - a nicely uncluttered background which certainly does not detract from the cute little girl.
Fine composition, lovely true colours, good light and, as always, stunning details and sharpness.
Keep 'em coming!

Lol at the title! And yes the cropping is a little tight but still shows all the crucial areas of this image. Good sharpness with nice warm cold colour contrasts between the blue sky and reddish hued soil. The white walled split level building in the bg adds interest and perspective. Tfs!

I guess you are one of these members about whom everybody wonders "what does this guy do for living, except travelling to and fro" :))
Well, Poland, Iceland and Peru together make a 3 months vacation, you should be awarded for that.
Actually i would not also expect to see a human interaction from you (like you didn't expect from yourself), a Machu Picchu stunner would be, but a surprize is a surprize and this is a cute one :)
Ok, you were not xpecting such a rush towards you and i take it as quite a valid excuse, but to tell the truth, i said to myself "Hey Craig, where are those tiny feet"... All in all, this is not a photo to miss for sure. I guess you will keep on amazing us with some other local faces.
worldcitizen (7211) 2013-05-30 13:38
Welcome back! This photo is a bit different than your usual shots, and it's fun and charming. The little girl almost runs right out of the frame. :-) The structure in the background is also interesting, although it seems to be missing a piece...or maybe it's that way intentionally! Can't wait to see what else you uncovered on your latest journey.

Hi Craig - good to see you back posting, and I hope you had a great trip. Drop me a line and tell me what you thought of the places we discussed! Would love to get another reaction. And of course I can't wait to comb through all your shots from South America!
You've started with a great one, full of childlike enthusiasm, and really well framed and composed despite the moving target. Thanks!

Good to see you back! Glad you had a great time and traveled safely. I'm sure I speak for many...can't wait to see what you have in store from this trip, looking forward to some great images...and you've set your bar high already! :) Nice way to kick it off here, the action and emotion is felt with this shot and carries your hallmark quality. It's the spontaneous moment captured that renders this effective. I generally don't seek out people either, but it's amazing what they can do for a photo, isn't it? Welcome home. Have a great evening.

What a quick grab as i can feel her dashing movement towards your lens, A sweet looking cheery girl full of fun and her sharp eyes glaze about it which is what we all need at the moment. A lovely natural portrait, with great light and colors and it's only natural since there is alway fun to be had there. Timing and placement are perfect as you've caught that look. Wonderful cute shot, Congrats

Hello Craig ,
So you're back from this great travel ! This is a good fist picture for your serie , the kind of shot that i should like to be able to take , mix of daily life and architecture . The ruuning kid and the wide angle create a strong dynamism .
