Puno, close to the Lake Titicaca.
The chullpass of Sillustani, partially encircled by Lake Umayo.
These impressive constructions are funerary towers of the ancient Colla people.
A chullpa is a circular shaped tower used as cemetery. As there were mummies inside those buildings they were looted in colonial times, so now it is somewhat difficult to know many aspects of those stone buildings. The quality of their walls is excellent having many characteristics of the Imperial Inkan architectural type.
The picture is taken at the end of the day and the low sun gives the all area a red glow.

Fascinating landscape, explanation, and composition. I think there is too much red in the photo though, the water and sky look unnaturally purple.

One of my favourite places - it brings back some good memories although it was stormy when I visited. Good composition but like David, I think reducing the redness of the image would help.

This look great. It's a very beautiful landscape, with nothing human except that strange tower. It seems so quiet!
I have tried a workshop, to see if I can correct the red problem... I am not totally satisfied...
A12C4, see you

Beautiful landscape! Warm colors, fine details and intresting note.
Reminds me a view from a sci fi movie on another planet!

A nice landscape shot that could be used in a book or calandar. The red glow is interesting.....there is a different type of light on the desert, that's for sure.
