Photographer's Note

In the Yanawara district in Arequipa, a good scenic overlook of the city can be appreciated. The architecture of this place is composed of many arcs, as can be seen here.
Here I captured a person taking a picture of the view. He is seen as a silhouette, and the camera can readily be seen. Probably the light was not enough for him to obtain a nice picture of the city just with a hand-held camera.
Sharpened a little with USM in PS.

Hello Jürgen,
as far as I do remember Arequipa is also called the "White City", but your "black version" of Arequipa with the warm lamp to the upper right and the beautifully colored sky in the background is a very good choice too. I especially like your POV and the silhouette of the photographer. Well done.

This is a beautifully-composed shot, with amazing colors in the sky. I really like the glowing lamp in the foreground. The silhouettes are sharp and fill the frame well. It is a wonderful scene to look at and enjoy.

Una foto muy atractiva, el contraste fuerte y los colores llamativos y cálidos funcionan muy bien en tu imagen, yo quizás le habria dejado un poco menos margen negro del lado izquierdo. Me gusta la farola cerrando la gradación de color del cielo del lado opuesto en cuanto a color, a juego con la puesta de sol.Bien definidas las siluetas tambien. Gracias por compartirla y un saludo,

Hi Jurgen,

haha, I know this place. The arches and the Misti volcano between them (in WS), I also have such shot. There is very nice chuech i churrigueresco style on the right. I like here the silhoueets of the photographer and other persons with bueatiful sunset colours in the bg.

Wow! This is a great composition. You have the exact right balance between shadow and light and your silhouettes are great too. The street light only adds to the image.
