Photographer’s Note
El Cris juga amb uns nens a la comunitat d'Illapata, un dels llocs més pobres i horribles que he vist mai a la meva vida.
Our friend Cris is playing with the children in Illapata, the wrost and poor place I never seen. If you don't know Cris, he is a very friendly man, with a heart as big as the mountains where he lives.
The "new" clothes you see are gived by our friends and the children are happy becouse they get these presents. Just look the pink shoes...
I'm sorry for the dark faces, but the sun there is very, very hard. You can see there are no shadows around, and the reason is the sun is in the vertical line the most part of the time. It's not like in Europe or another places, there, at 4200 m. high the sun is like a laser light, very hard and direct.

Very good expressions from the kids, not paying attention to the camera, and such great background, with great brown mountains. Congratulations!

Hi Jordi. Nice capture. The kids are very cute and the landscape is also beautiful even if it is, like you say, very poor. A nice human touch in this pic.
Regards,
Henrik.

Hello Jordi,
A very nice picture combining the beautiful Andes scenery and a view on the daily life of these children
with - I guess - their teacher.
Also nice on this picture is that in this harsh mountain country people like colours a lot.
It's one of my memories of my visit of Peru many years ago that the indigenous habitants of the Andes
are dressed very colourful.
Best regards, Paul

Hello Jordi.
I can imagine how hard it is to get a good exposure in these bright conditions, but you have done a great job, and I like this daily life scene very much. It's so natural, and shows the humble nature of pleasure in such a distant place. I find the background of the well lit valley to be breathtaking, and the little bit of sky in the top right corner is a fine touch. You have set these mountain people against the immensity of nature, the colours of the children's clothing helping to focus the attention on them. Very good note and fine picture that embodies the main idea of TE.
Regards,
Andrew

Hi Jordi. A wonderful photo. The ease and joy of the children like it very well. The total composition is masterful. You have skillfully realized this photograph. My appreciation for it. Best regards, Wolfgang.

Hello Jordi,
I looked on your photo, read your notes, very moving short note.
When I look how happy these children are, it makes me wonder in our western world, children want and want more.
Their laughing happy faces tell me all, they are happy.
It is a lovely photo, also the story behind it.
Thank you for showing.
With regards to you,
Robert

Hi Jordi,
Nice to see these kids enjoying and dancing under these difficult conditions. The place looks really dry to me. The landscape looks interesting though.
Well done and with good colors under these difficult light conditions.
Have a nice sunday,
Harko
