The ruins of Machu Picchu, which means Old Montain, rediscovered in 1911 by Yale archaeologist Hiram Bingham, are one of the most beautiful and enigmatic ancient sites in the world.
What you see in the picture is the top of Wayna Pichu, which means Young Montain. To get there, is more and less a 60 minutes walking from Macchu Pichu. Because of the view you have from there, the hicking is worth.
Thanks for your comments.
