Photographer’s Note
Reed Island, located in Lake Titicaca (elevation 12,000 feet), is actually a floating island - made entirely of reeds and home to the Uros people. Naturally, their homes are also made from reeds. And so are boats - like the one pictured and also framing this shot. These reed boats take about three months to construct - I'm not sure how long they last!
